3 Jeans, 10 Days, Choose Wisely

Hi, my name is Tairalyn and I over pack for all vacations!

If their were such thing as a OPA (over packers anonymous), no doubt this would be my opening line. The one I would say right before I burst into tears giving my irrational reasoning for packing my entire wardrobe (all 4 seasons of it) for a week long tropical vacation. Over packing is just something I come at naturally, deciding in advance what I will wear each day sounds like torture to me, it’s just something I can’t wrap my mind around, I like the idea of having options. This weekend our family leaves to California for 10 days and although I managed to fit me and the girls in 1 RATHER LARGE suitcase I didn’t have to skimp on wardrobe options, I just had to learn a new way to fold and get realistic when it came to how many pairs of jeans I was bringing.

After learning a new folding technique (hashtag rolling for life) I’m proud to say I did it; packed me and my 2 girls in 1 suitcase. WAIT! WAIT! Hold your applause, this doesn’t include shoes, accessories or our toiletries, just our clothing. But still… for me, this is impressive!

I came to the conclusion I didn’t need all 28 pairs of jeans, and not even the top 5 that stay on a healthy rotation each week at home, but when it came to a vacation you could EASILY get away with 3 quality pairs so long as you choose wisely.

You only need 3 pairs of jeans for ANY vacation and here is how;

FIRST will be a classic dark wash with absolutely no distressing. These will be the pair you can dress up or down
SECOND will be a classic light wash with detail (in my case, distressing). These will be the casual everyday pair
THIRD is a black pair of jeans, that will go with nearly everything in your bag, dressed up or down

Jean Tip: Keep in mind you will be re-wearing these jeans on vacation so choosing a quality pair of jeans is key. Jeans that are comfortable to wear, will stay true to it’s shape after multiple wears and packs well; for me that’s Yoga Jeans.

…and there you have it people, the only 3 pairs of jeans you’ll need on any vacation.

The story behind Yoga Jeans is so brilliant I had to share;

Co-founder Eric Wazana’s passion for denim was sparked when he was a kid — a kid who refused to accept the status quo. As teenager, every year before school started his mom would buy him a new pair of jeans. Eric would immediately start beating them up against the sidewalk, roughing them with sandpaper, making little tears with scraps of Coca-Cola cans to age them. They weren’t right until they were comfortable and vintage-looking.

From these early experiments in distressing emerged Eric’s love for denim and the idea to create a company of his own. His enthusiasm soon spread to his little brother Jacob and before long the two Wazana brothers set out to create the most comfortable jeans in the world.

At heart, they had one simple goal:
To make women of all ages, body shapes and walks of life feel confident, beautiful and sexy.

After studying women’s natural curves and body movements, they deconstructed traditional denim patterns and fabrics and remade them as a new pair of jeans so comfortable and flexible that a woman could actually practice yoga in them. That’s how yoga jeans were born. While most quality fashion goods are produced in China, East Asia and South America, the Wazana brothers believe strongly in local production and social conscience. They’ve strived against all odds and despite industry standards to adhere to their principles. All of their denim is 100% handcrafted at the yoga jeans production facility in Quebec, Canada.
