ONE YEAR! It’s been almost a full year since our family has been on a vacation. We often visit Whistler as for us, it feels like our home away from home; with the only exception as room service with a smile. We’ve stayed at places inside the village and outside, with some of our favorite hotels being the Delta Whistler and Hilton Whistler Village. This time around however we stayed someplace without room service, we stayed in a townhouse that we rented through VRBO; the verdict, we’re looking to stay there again in December.
2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open concept living room/dining room/kitchen, 2 patio’s, private hot tub, and pool; located around the perimeter of Whistler village. You will not get much more than this without giving up your first born, or at least missing a mortgage payment at home. The home was more than inviting with all the luxuries you get at home and more. With a TV in the main living space and another 2 in each bedroom, a kitchen stocked with dishware, cookware and your basic necessities like tea, coffee, sugar, oils, spices and even popcorn.

Our weekend started off just as a family of 3; Sammy, Sofia, and I. Grew to a family of 5, adding my parents on day 2, then growing to a small army of 12, when some more friends and family came up just for the day. One might think this is what made our vacation, however Sammy and I truly believe this was easily a 50/50 split between family and location; that and the king-sized bed that Sammy, Sofia, and I got the luxury of sleeping in. I’m feeling very lucky that we found this little hidden gem; feeling even better now that I’ve shared it with all of you. If you vacation in Whistler, or are thinking about going up, I highly recommend staying at Unit 54 in Glaciers Reach.
Our entire weekend felt as though it was spent either at the park in Whistler village or the pool within Glacier’s Reach. However now that I look back at images, their was much more to it; from Starbucks each morning, to a visit or two to Cows the well known ice cream shop, dinner with my parents at Sushi Village, to an evening date at Brew House. Our weekend was full of memories, ones I will remember and reminisce for years to come. Years or months maybe, we’re planning on going back before Christmas, to frolic in the snow and cozy up next to the fireplace.

I’m so glad you had a great family vacation. I too feel like Whistler is my home away from home. Now you have me dreaming of going back .

I love Whistler as well! I’ve stayed in townhouses and at hotels and love both experiences for different reasons!
