Dining Room Chandelier via Urban Barn
I wouldn’t want, not even for a second, for you to think I’m organized enough in my life to execute a DIY like this with having to go out shopping. The tea pot and the idea was about all of the items I had in the moment, that and a can of gold spray paint that I inherited in a swag-bag the night prior; everything else was sourced out of home.
SIDE RANT>> Just for a moment, can we talk about the bugger who made wearing your pajamas in public a faux-pas? I mean maybe I don’t know all the rules, but did I miss a memo on the acceptance of your night wear in the florist, on say… a Sunday afternoon? Maybe if I knew the rules better I could save myself a ton of time and stress, heck! and maybe even get to more of these home decor DIY’s. Anyone have a copy of the ebook for rules on pajamas in public?
Against every bone in my body, I got myself presentable, borderline presentable. This means I washed and moisturized my face, brushed my teeth {you’re welcome}, top knotted my hair and threw on a clean pair of jeans and a tee. I mean come’on people it’s Sunday, I shouldn’t even be thinking about this until at least 2pm. Sofia and I headed out to a local florist, picked up a sweet little bouquet I was going to need to complete my DIY vision I had. We ran a few other errands while jamming out to “rain drop pop” {any Bobs & LoLo fans out there?} then headed home to spray “all the things” gold. I used the KRYLON Color Master in Metallic Gold that was graciously put in our swag-bags at a Lifestyle Bloggers Conference this past weekend, BlogPodium, and can I just say how impressed I am? I mean I’ve used gold spray paints in the past, what type of woman would I be if I hadn’t, but just for a moment let’s talk overall amazing-ness. This stuff went on ridiculously smooth, sprayed like magic, and dries quicker than any quick-dry nail polish I’ve ever tried. I tested out the “dry in 15 minutes” claim on the back of the can, because of my toddler-like patience levels, and let’s just say it was dry in under 5 minutes. Inside we came to tackle the floral part of the DIY, we arranged and then rearranged, and then threw in towel accepting our imperfect arrangement. We accessorized our vase with a crystal drop and there she sat; waiting on us for dinner.
We’re smitten with her, something tells me she will be a perfect addition to our morning high tea’s.

Thanks Maegan, It’s funny I was totally inspired during a conference over the weekend to change the way I photograph. More story telling and I think I’m in love. From your comment and love on Pinterest I see you love it too ๐

You make it sound so easy! That gives me hope. And it is a beautiful arrangement. Pinning!

I promise Heaven It’s easy-peasy. Trust you my I have tried spray painting many-a-things and the coverage is usually spotty or takes too long to dry and I get ancy and double up too quick on the layers ending up with drop marks. It’s a horrible thing. THIS TIME and with THIS SPRAY it worked wonders. I PROMISE you, you will amaze yourself.
