Feature: Mole Hill Miracle(-Gro) +GIVEAWAY

Mole hills are a frequent occurrence in this little neighborhood of ours, and over the course of the 7 years we’ve called this house our home, we’ve found some super creative ways to evict these guys from our yard (in the nicest way possible). The most successful route has been lawn sensors (think noisy outdoor solar light) which make a low beeping noise every 60 seconds. They send a signal between the two posts located at either side of your lawn and with their underground signals keep the moles from looking to your yard as great real estate. It worked for a good 3 years until they […]

{nearly} WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

We all know how good I am at keeping it short, if you’ve ever sat down to one of my stories you’ll know. Let’s just say that we will keep things “shorter” than usual with today’s Wordless Wednesday. A few weeks back, Sofia and I had the opportunity to attend (and dine) at The Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. during one of their Mom & Tot DIY Herbal Salves classes with EarthBites. We learnt a lot, I mean a TON, thank goodness for the teacher, Aboriginal Herbalist Lori Snyder who took the time to write everything out for us to take home in note form. We walked out […]

DIY: Front Door Fairy Garden

We FINALLY tackled a project we’ve been wanting to do now for 365 days, quite possibly more, it’s just you loose count after a year, which is probably best. Since Fairy Gardens became a thing we’ve wanted to make one for our home, but it wasn’t until last Friday that our desire and determination saw eye-to-eye and we set our entire day to the making of our first Fairy Garden as a family.  Sofia and I took the morning to pop out bright an early to Garden Works for the plants that we would want in our little magical garden (you may have been following along here). We had […]

FAMILY: Crafts, an excuse for making forever friendships

As each month passes we get another adorable shot of our little people all together! What’s really fun about seeing these group shots is all these kids come from men who grew up together, some since kindergarten. Between us 5 wives, which we all met through our husbands, Ashley, Angela, Jenieve, Maria and myself, we’ve got 8 kids and 2 on the way. The ratio, as you can see is 2 girls to 6 boys but you would never know it if you were to be a fly on the wall during one of our monthly crafter’noons. They play together so well with no sides, this past week […]

DIY: Dyeing Easter Eggs Naturally

On Tuesday, myself, Sofia and some of our favorite blogger peeps were invited to a delicious and creative Brunch at The Rocky Mountain Flatbread on main street. We were to come prepared to have fun, dying eggs with fruits and vegetables and dining over some delicious foods from their new brunch menu was on the timeline for the day. We couldn’t say no, for one The Rocky Mountain Flatbread is one of our ultimate favorite family-friendly restaurants in Vancouver and secondly we couldn’t miss seeing some of our favorite faces at the same time. #winningallaround After leaving the event we felt inspired to try it ourselves at home, […]

FAMILY: Outdoor Picasso

We needed the sun and we also needed the excuse to get out of out pajamas.  The inspiration came from Jen over at Mama.Papa.Bubba. as many of our genius ideas do; on a nice day take the easel outdoors and enjoy the weather while getting creative. BEST IDEA OF THE YEAR, and I mean that, we’ve been sick going on 6 weeks people, no good ideas coming from this tired brain of mine. We bundled up, packed our pockets full of Kleenex and headed out back. The sun blazed down on our faces while we painted in peace, the birds around us chirped as if they were cheering […]

DIY: Bedside Table Overhaul {with D-C-Fix}

We have an IKEA bedroom set because a) it’s affordable and we bought it when we first got married and b) our bedroom hasn’t made the priorities list as of yet. This is why tackling upgrades to our bedroom in the form of a bedside table overhaul was so needed. Call it an IKEA hack if you will, this little project took me all of 40 minutes from start to finish. I covered the table top with the marble self-adhesive film by D-C-Fix and swapped out the drawer handles with those that I found at Michaels Crafts. D-C-FIX Website // Facebook // Twitter // Instagram // Pinterest The bedside tables are […]

DIY: Ice Wand {elsa inspired}

Can you believe that Frozen is still as popular as it is, after all this time? That was a trick question, of course it is, just like all the other amazing Disney flicks that we all know and love. Truthfully, if I look back and try to recall how many times I watched and re-watched Disney’s Cinderella, I’m sure it would be along the same lines of Sofia’s tally of times she’s seen Frozen. It’s just one of those movies that will be a forever classic! You may remember we went to Disney’s Frozen on Ice a few weeks ago and while I knew and was ready to drop […]

DIY: Rustic Placemats

Remember when I told you I wasn’t done with D-C-Fix products? Well I’m not, it’s versatility is to blame, whomever said it was only for your windows, floors and furniture was wrong. I take that only as a suggestion, as for me the skies the limits when it comes to do-it-yourself projects, pinterest is a mere springboard. Feeling inspired to make something with a cabin chic vibe for our home, I came up with these placemats. You must’of seen my sneak peek last week on Instagram? What a jerky move ‘eh? Well the wait is over, time to start eating cleaner, and I don’t mean a sugarless diet […]

DIY: Holiday Bath Bombs

We try and do this as often as we can, get all the babes together under one roof for a fun craft’ernoon with their “pretty much family” friends. Close since they were born, the ages now range from 8 months to 6 years old, finding a craft that everyone can do is not easy, but this one at least everyone can use. Last month we did a Halloween inspired playdate which we managed to make bowls and bowls of Monster Slime and boy was it fun! This time around we changed seasons and geared our craft around the upcoming Christmas holiday. We had all the kids make Peppermint Bath […]
