Keeping Handwritten Notes Alive {basic invite}

I wrote and passed notes in high school EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. In fact, I have a shoe box full of handwritten notes that meant more than just a pen to paper; some they confessed high school true loves or silly moments we never wanted to say allowed but never wanted to forget. It’s no wonder why people can grow a strong love for stationery, it can carry so much emotion.  The more digital we get, the more I want to make sure that handwritten notes never fade in my house. From unexpected letters in the mail, to notes or drawings tapped to bedroom doors, lunch kit love notes and […]

Our Christmas {wordless wednesday}

{WORDLESS WEDNESDAY} almost; Christmas has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean I can’t go back and reminisce about the disgusting amount of cookies I consumed and Sofia’s faces as she opened her mortgage payment… I mean Hatchimal. YOU GUYS! what a fun Christmas we had. As tradition has it, our family spent the night at my parents where we appetizer-ed out for dinner, opened our Christmas Eve box filled with new jammies, Finding Dori Monopoly and treats galore. We put cookies (the ones I didn’t like), milk and carrots under the Christmas Tree for Santa and wrote him a threatening sweet little letter and slept with our stockings at the foot of our beds. It was […]

Whistler Traditions {travel + fashion}

Screw Christmas Crackers and New matching pajamas, I’ve managed to make a vacation a holiday tradition in our family…  trust me guys, I’m even baffled by this one.    Sammy and I have been vacationing in Whistler over the Holidays since we first started dating 10yrs ago, ACTUALLY WAIT!  we even went there for our Honeymoon! This folks is why we call Whistler our happy place. We go up as close to Christmas as we can afford (no seriously, that’s the truth!). If we can manage a great rate or snag a Living Social deal early on in the year we go the week before Christmas, if we can’t and we’re hogtied into […]

FEATURE: A Festive Stagette

It’s not everyday your bestfriend gets married, and; It’s not everyday you get asked to be her Maid-of-Honor! Party Planning sorta’ runs in my blood (interesting fact; I was a wedding planner for 8 years) but this doesn’t mean I wasn’t doubting my talents this time around, as this client was extra special to me. Not only my bestfriend but I was in her bridal party… I am her Maid-of-Honor! Lindsay and I have known each other since Elementary School, grade 3 to be exact. She was the kid who snorted milk to make others smile, she has this contagious laugh that can turn anyone’s day around and a voice that […]

FAMILY: Crafts, an excuse for making forever friendships

As each month passes we get another adorable shot of our little people all together! What’s really fun about seeing these group shots is all these kids come from men who grew up together, some since kindergarten. Between us 5 wives, which we all met through our husbands, Ashley, Angela, Jenieve, Maria and myself, we’ve got 8 kids and 2 on the way. The ratio, as you can see is 2 girls to 6 boys but you would never know it if you were to be a fly on the wall during one of our monthly crafter’noons. They play together so well with no sides, this past week […]

DIY: Dyeing Easter Eggs Naturally

On Tuesday, myself, Sofia and some of our favorite blogger peeps were invited to a delicious and creative Brunch at The Rocky Mountain Flatbread on main street. We were to come prepared to have fun, dying eggs with fruits and vegetables and dining over some delicious foods from their new brunch menu was on the timeline for the day. We couldn’t say no, for one The Rocky Mountain Flatbread is one of our ultimate favorite family-friendly restaurants in Vancouver and secondly we couldn’t miss seeing some of our favorite faces at the same time. #winningallaround After leaving the event we felt inspired to try it ourselves at home, […]

FAMILY: Christmas; at our home

I love our Christmas traditions, they’ve been this way since Sammy and I started dating and I don’t foresee it changing ever. We spend the night at my parents house on Christmas Eve, the plan is always a low-key but uber fun evening of take-out, we play games, we watch movies, we prepare the house for the jolly mans arrival and we try to get some sleep.  This year we ordered in greek food, we played Kerplunk, we platted the very best treats for Santa and his reindeer and after Sofia was tucked into bed we watched a classic Christmas movie, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (because of course). As […]

{nearly} Wordless Wednesday

As tradition would have it, each year our friends all get together and host a “chosen family” Christmas party. We all gather at one of our homes and do what any family would do when all coming together in a small space, we get loud. What started as couples getting together over the holiday having a nice quiet dinner together has now become a gathering of a small army of people, 18, while we do our very best to not disrupt the neighbors.  In the years previous whoever hosts the gathering makes the main course while the rest bring sides and desserts, now with the addition of […]

BEST OF NETFLIX; for the Holidays {+giveaway}

Isn’t it funny how an event or moment can mold into a family tradition so quickly? It’s sorta’ the case with baking cookies while watching a Christmas movie over the Holidays. It doesn’t just happen once in this house, I mean come on a dozen cookies only lasts a night of binge watching Homeland, right? Sofia and I bake cookies over the holidays at least 3 or 4 times, and along with being paired with a huge flour’y mess it also goes perfectly with a Christmas cartoon or classic Christmas movie.  This time, we tried a new recipe, which I will not share as I would love to […]
