DIY: Dyeing Easter Eggs Naturally

On Tuesday, myself, Sofia and some of our favorite blogger peeps were invited to a delicious and creative Brunch at The Rocky Mountain Flatbread on main street. We were to come prepared to have fun, dying eggs with fruits and vegetables and dining over some delicious foods from their new brunch menu was on the timeline for the day. We couldn’t say no, for one The Rocky Mountain Flatbread is one of our ultimate favorite family-friendly restaurants in Vancouver and secondly we couldn’t miss seeing some of our favorite faces at the same time. #winningallaround After leaving the event we felt inspired to try it ourselves at home, […]

FAMILY: Christmas; at our home

I love our Christmas traditions, they’ve been this way since Sammy and I started dating and I don’t foresee it changing ever. We spend the night at my parents house on Christmas Eve, the plan is always a low-key but uber fun evening of take-out, we play games, we watch movies, we prepare the house for the jolly mans arrival and we try to get some sleep.  This year we ordered in greek food, we played Kerplunk, we platted the very best treats for Santa and his reindeer and after Sofia was tucked into bed we watched a classic Christmas movie, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (because of course). As […]

{nearly} Wordless Wednesday

As tradition would have it, each year our friends all get together and host a “chosen family” Christmas party. We all gather at one of our homes and do what any family would do when all coming together in a small space, we get loud. What started as couples getting together over the holiday having a nice quiet dinner together has now become a gathering of a small army of people, 18, while we do our very best to not disrupt the neighbors.  In the years previous whoever hosts the gathering makes the main course while the rest bring sides and desserts, now with the addition of […]

BEST OF NETFLIX; for the Holidays {+giveaway}

Isn’t it funny how an event or moment can mold into a family tradition so quickly? It’s sorta’ the case with baking cookies while watching a Christmas movie over the Holidays. It doesn’t just happen once in this house, I mean come on a dozen cookies only lasts a night of binge watching Homeland, right? Sofia and I bake cookies over the holidays at least 3 or 4 times, and along with being paired with a huge flour’y mess it also goes perfectly with a Christmas cartoon or classic Christmas movie.  This time, we tried a new recipe, which I will not share as I would love to […]

FEATURE: The Avion Rockstar Life

Don’t get stuck looking in from the outside, you too can be treated like a Rockstar with Avion! For the past 3 years we’ve enjoyed the luxury of shopping like a Rockstar over the Christmas Holidays. HA! This is not a joke, the only difference between how I shop and Justin Bieber is that he has to stop for autographs (sucker!). When you’re an Avion card holder you get the luxury of many things, but one that I thoroughly enjoy each year, and if you ask Sammy maybe a little too much, is the Avion Holiday Boutique.  Setup in Metropolis at Metrotown, the Avion Holiday Boutique offers […]

EVENTS: Christmas Farmers Market {coquitlam}

I love to shop, this is no surprise here, and when I can manage to combine both shopping and supporting local businesses the excitement level goes almost near embarrassing. There is something that feels so good about knowing where your money is going after you’ve made the purchase. Better yet, handing your money to the person who actually put the time and love into making each item. I love it! I love nothing more! This is why Coquitlam’s Christmas Farmers Market means so much, I have a chance to not only check items off my list of gifts to buy, but also getting those feel good feelings from supporting local businesses. […]

DIY: Holiday Bath Bombs

We try and do this as often as we can, get all the babes together under one roof for a fun craft’ernoon with their “pretty much family” friends. Close since they were born, the ages now range from 8 months to 6 years old, finding a craft that everyone can do is not easy, but this one at least everyone can use. Last month we did a Halloween inspired playdate which we managed to make bowls and bowls of Monster Slime and boy was it fun! This time around we changed seasons and geared our craft around the upcoming Christmas holiday. We had all the kids make Peppermint Bath […]

{nearly} Wordless Wednesday

Each year we put up the Christmas lights as a family. Normally speaking Sofia and I don’t last the entire while, but we give it our best until our desire for warm hands and hot chocolate filled bellies take over. I’m excited to say we lasted the entire while alongside Sammy, to his shock I think we were an actual help versus hindrance like in the past; wouldn’t you say Sammy (I know you’re reading this). The entire time we’re putting the lights up Sofia is asking when it’s time she can climb the ladder. It’s one of those things as a kid that just feels exhilarating, […]

It’s November, now what?

Goodbye October, Hello November! I’m having a hard time believing that we’re nearing the end of the year, like 2015 is soon to be a thing of the past. For real, were we not just writing our goals for the year and making promises that we knew we would break within 72 hours? It sure feels that way over here, someone, quick, hold me! I think it’s fair to say this year has gone by way too fast, slow down calendar gods, remember that time that 4 days took an eternity, you know like that time when I was 40 weeks pregnant. Yeah, make time go that slow again, […]

{nearly} Wordless Wednesday

Outfit Details// Old Navy Vest (similar), Joe Fresh Sweater (similar), Joe Fresh Jeans (on clearance), Target Boots Wordless is not really my thing, if anyone knows me they know I am far from quiet. I do however love the idea of getting away with a picture heavy post, and this is why we take part in Wordless Wednesday. Ours though, we would prefer to call nearly Wordless Wednesday because yeah, it’s what it is. I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.   -anne of green gables Pumpkin patchin’ with the school is what we got up to last week and boy was it […]
