LIFE: Good ‘Ol Canadian Baseball Game

…take me out to the ball game! AND BUY ME POPCORN! Went to a Vancouver Canadians game last week, a first for Sofia, but most importantly we went as one big happy family (the brady bunch ‘aint got nothing on this crew). We got seats that were in the shade, irritated our neighbors with selfie stick group shots, and when things got slow we played with auntie Lindsay’s snapchat and made ourselves into Sia (as you do). The afternoon was perfect really, we cheered loud and boo’ed hard, ate hot dogs and double dipped our french fries. We left with dirt on our shorts (thanks to running the […]

FAMILY: Destination Kidtropolis

I honestly can’t even begin to tell you just how amazing this place is, Kidtropolis, and this is why I knew I would have to take a ton of pictures to get the point across. Not only a kids dream but any parent who encourages imagination play and those parents who want to keep their kids little for as long as possible.  Ever since hearing about Kidtropolis hitting Richmond I knew it would a) be a place we would frequent and b) a reason I would nail down the perfect times to drive while dealing with rush-hour. This place is packed with hours and hours and hours of fun […]

FAMILY: Geocaching

This weekend we tried something new and totally foreign to us, geocaching. By no means did we expect to be good at it right away, I was actually doing my best to set us all up for not finding a thing our first time acting as modern-day pirates searching for treasure. We downloaded the geocaching.com app onto our phones as it was recommended to us by Louise at Talk Nerdy to Me (a total pro geocache’er) and headed on our way out. We saw a few ones in close proximity to one another at Rocky Point in Port Moody, so off we set.  We got our first real […]

FEATURE: The Avion Rockstar Life

Don’t get stuck looking in from the outside, you too can be treated like a Rockstar with Avion! For the past 3 years we’ve enjoyed the luxury of shopping like a Rockstar over the Christmas Holidays. HA! This is not a joke, the only difference between how I shop and Justin Bieber is that he has to stop for autographs (sucker!). When you’re an Avion card holder you get the luxury of many things, but one that I thoroughly enjoy each year, and if you ask Sammy maybe a little too much, is the Avion Holiday Boutique.  Setup in Metropolis at Metrotown, the Avion Holiday Boutique offers […]

EVENTS: Christmas Farmers Market {coquitlam}

I love to shop, this is no surprise here, and when I can manage to combine both shopping and supporting local businesses the excitement level goes almost near embarrassing. There is something that feels so good about knowing where your money is going after you’ve made the purchase. Better yet, handing your money to the person who actually put the time and love into making each item. I love it! I love nothing more! This is why Coquitlam’s Christmas Farmers Market means so much, I have a chance to not only check items off my list of gifts to buy, but also getting those feel good feelings from supporting local businesses. […]

FASHION: Black Friday Shopping Haul

As promised, I wanted to share with you all the amazing deals I got this past Friday at Guildford Town Centre. Here is why I find it so great, HELLO! CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DEALS. I mean I used to joke around about how genius it would be if a family could pretend Christmas was the day after boxing day, hitting the stores on the wild but oh-so-worth-it day of crazy shopping deals and get everyone’s gifts all in one day.  Did someone say $100 gift card giveaway? I would keep scrolling if I were you! This right here is why I love Black Friday so much, and my love for Guildford […]

FAMILY: Disney Frozen on Ice

Talk about bringing back memories! My mum and dad used to take us to ice shows all the time, have it be Disney or any show they thought we may like for that matter. We had great times and even better memories, so you can image when I got the opportunity to take Sofia to Disney’s Frozen on Ice, I got right on top of it.  We got all dolled up, choosing to wear our most glittery Elsa dress we own, the one that lights up with fiber optics, because of course. We wore our brightest of pink shoes so that Elsa would compliment us on our fashion […]

Who even takes a child to High Tea?

Are we crazy for taking a 4 year old for High Tea? Nah! But the ridiculous amount of photos we took while we were there could easily be deemed ludicrous! It was the loveliest of Wednesday afternoons when Sofia, my mama and I went for High Tea at The Secret Garden Tea Company in Kerrisdale. We had a 12pm reservation for 3, and no plans on leaving before our time was up. While mum and I dined on mini croissants stuffed with Hickory Pork and Shiitake Mushroom, Sofia took mini bites making her way through Peanut Butter and Banana Pinwheels. Surprisingly she helped herself a tier a time (it must […]

PARENTING: Good Sleep Is Just a Jump Away

If someone told me that a good night sleep was just a jump away, I would say how high. The day I heard that Springfree Trampoline was setting up shop in my city, I got excited. Sammy and I have been contemplating what to invest in for Sofia in a play center now that we have a large backyard. From a playhouse to a swing set to a trampoline, the options are unlimited really, it just depends on what we want to spend. We weigh out factors on longevity and long-term interest, to cost and overall look it gives to the backyard.  A playhouse was my first choice […]

FAMILY: Being Prepared For The Unexpected

So we lost all power Saturday afternoon, and didn’t see the light again until Tuesday night. These last 4 days have been an eye-opener to say the least. At the end of the day, after all the worry, the frustration and stress what it all boils down to is how unprepared me and my family are for the unexpected, a natural disaster. STORM BACKSTORY (if you care) We’ve been told that the weekend would bring wind and rain, lots and lots of rain. What they didn’t tell us, what mother nature failed to include was that it would be a windstorm like we’ve never seen. This storm would take […]
