3 steps for an Ant-less BBQ Season

  HEY YOU GUYS! How hot is it where you are? I cannot believe it’s only the first few days of Summer and here in Vancouver we’ve hit 34 °C, that’s 93 °F, isn’t that NUTS?! Steaks marinating, veggies skewered, watermelon cut, sun shining, music blaring… BBQ season is now in full swing and although I’d like to say we cook on the grill just for fun, sometimes it’s a survival skill (hashtag turn on the oven and get a punch in the throat). I am by no means complaining… BUT with this warm weather comes cooking outside, and with cooking outside brings uninvited guests! Yes some ants do […]

The Magic of Nature’s Care {Miracle-Gro}

We’re no strangers to getting dirty in this house, we’ve been playing in the dirt and caring for our own garden religiously for the last 4 years, and with each passing year Sofia gets more involved, and exponentially dirtier.  With how long and drawn out our Winter was this year we were unable to start the garden outside when we normally do, YOU GUYS we still had a massive amount of snow on the ground at the end of February! It was far too cold outside to start our little seedlings, poor things would’ve never made it. This year, for the first time, we started our seeds inside. […]

Bringing the Spa Home {Signature Mobile Spa}

Do something today that your future self with thank you for Treating yourself is something mother’s tend to let go to the waist-side. It’s not that they don’t think about it, it’s just not a priority. However what I have learnt over the 6 years of motherhood is if you don’t take care of yourself you just can’t expect yourself to be able to care for others.  I mean you CAN, but it’s not pretty (or fair) to that body that’s done so much for you already. Priorities have changed, expenses have increased (hello diapers and dance class) and overall you just don’t have the time anymore. Just […]

Grab your Sunnies! {SmartBuyGlasses}

When it comes to sunglasses Sammy and I have always been ones to go for quality over quantity; naturally we gravitate towards sunglasses that are classic and timeless vs trendy and seasonal, so we’re okay with the investment. Even though we know in advance we will have to pay a little more, we will still make an evening of it and research the best deals online. Quite possibly my favorite feature on the SmartBuyGlasses website is their VIRTUAL TRY ON; and it’s not what you think. Throw away what you once knew of testing glasses or sunglasses on an uploaded photo of yourself, they’ve taken this one step […]

The Best of Our California Vacation

I wanted to make sure I got something out to you all RIGHT AWAY (because who likes waiting?). I went through the 1,089 pictures (not at all overboard) and chose 30 fun shots taken from the 10 days away that should give you a good idea of how the trip went overall. We visited Disneyland, we tackled California Adventure, we outlet shopped, made our way to Santa Monica Pier, had a few pool days and even a down day (or two). I think we made the most of the California sun and are looking forward to the day that we can return.  I’ve made a few notes on the images […]

Let the VLOGGING begin

After much deliberation and anticipation (on my end; sorry) we finally got the ball rolling and our YouTube Channel, Delightful Chaos, and things are on a roll! We vlogged our ENTIRE TRIP from our days at Disneyland, to California Adventure Park and even a little visit to Santa Monica Pier.  Vlog 002 //Disneyland Adventures (napping in Disneyland) Vlog 003 //California Adventure Park (flying high without telling dad) Vlog 004 //Santa Monica Pier (burgers for babies) Vlog 005 //Disney Adventures (picky eater breakthrough) We made memories that will last a lifetime, and thankfully I made a point to pull out my video camera at every moment I could so that […]

Husbands Doing Laundry {+free printable}

There is nothing hotter than a man who cleans; am I right ladies? When it comes to husbands, I know I won the lotto and I don’t even have to split the winnings (hello! sister wives). 10 years together and it’s safe to say that we’ve finally found our groove as a couple, and YES that means my husband cleans and does the laundry.  I cook all meals, make all lunches, keep the house tidy and the kids alive and on weekends he does a deep clean and any dirty laundry that still needs doing. It’s not for everyone, but it works for us. Don’t get me wrong […]

Baby Products That Last (the test of time)

When it comes to baby gear I am all about LONGEVITY. Whether it’s to keep for future babies, for friends with future baby plans or to sell and recoup part of my investment back. For me I look at the company and brand, are they reputable, do they make a quality product and have they lasted the TEST OF TIME? Just off the top of my head, a few brands that come to mind when I think quality baby gear, I think Fisher-Price, Graco, Britax, Peg-Perego, Munchkin… all these are companies that have been around the (baby) block. They have lasted the test of time through not only […]

Baby Monitor Bliss

I like to sleep next to her, without having to sleep in her crib.  I like to have my eye on her at any given moment, but also giving her space. …and I can with a video baby monitor.  Why steer away from a brand you love and trust between kids, right? When we were on the hunt for a baby monitor for Stella I did search around to see what was new on the market, but at the end of the day I knew I would end up with a Levana Baby Monitor. We had one with Sofia, we bought ones for our friends who were […]

Sleep; it’s a beautiful thing {sleep training baby}

Forget all the solicited (and unsolicited) advice your friends have given you about “how to get your baby to sleep through the night”. I hate to do it, I hate that I am THAT PERSON right now, but because babies are all so different, the best and most successful way to get sleep is to have a plan built just for them (and you). You see, we never sleep trained Sofia as it was just not an option at that very moment. When Sofia was born she was deemed colic, and we were simply trying to keep our head above water on a day-to-day basis. We were not in […]
