Stella’s Bumble Bee Birthday {this is 1}

Birthday’s should BUZZ! From the chatter among guests catching up, to the shrieks of excitement from the littles who’ve had far too much sugar, and the balloons that just couldn’t stand one more moment of heat… POP! We celebrated Stella Grace’s 1st Bumble Bee Birthday over the weekend and what a lovely day it was. Some of our very closest friends and family gathered to celebrate this little bumble bee of ours and OF THE FUN that was had. From eating a delicious lunch to snacking on some sweets almost too beautiful to eat, to making stuffed unicorns and getting the most glitter’tastic tattoos (by yours truly)… […]

Sofia’s Odd Squad Birthday {this is 6}

SIX? SIX! Holy Batman Hannah Fragglerock! MY BABY IS 6 YOU GUYS! *hold me* When asked how she wanted to celebrate her 6th birthday, she quickly answered ODD SQUAD! Mama! I just must have an Odd Squad Birthday this year! A show I was very much aware of and totally approved. Have you seen an episode of The Odd Squad? YOU GUYS it’s one of those shows you won’t mind watching with your kids and will likely catch yourself gut-laughing at. Kid Spy Agents that solve the most random mystery’s with the funniest of bad-guys. Think Jamie Jam who covers things in Jam and clearly needs to be stopped, or the Noisemaker […]

Seattle’s 5 Insta-Worthy Selfie Spots

I’m not claiming something you don’t already know, Seattle’s beautiful. What I am doing is showing you 5 INSTA-WORTHY SELFIE SPOTS you must visit (and instagram) the next time you get to the city. The list could’ve been made a MILE long, with so many gorgeous angles to share the city, I’ve managed to narrow it down to my top 5 spots I like to SNAP, FILTER and HASHTAG at an arms length in Seattle. Seattle is by far our families favorite road trip destination, offering something for everyone from the Woodland Park Zoo, to Everett Kids Museum, Trader Joe’s, Pike Place Market and of course Target (because […]

Back-To-School with Walmart

  Summer is nearly over and our minds (including our exhausted bodies) are excited for the school year ahead.  GRADE ONE is a pretty big deal over here; Sofia has mentally convinced herself she is now in a real grade. Unlike the 2 years of pre-school and 1 year of kindergarten, Grade One is different, IT’S A NUMBER which means it’s the real deal now, she’s in SCHOOL! Oh how I love 6-year-old reasoning!   Walmart Canada Website // Facebook // Twitter // Pinterest Similar to what we did last year, we partnered with Walmart on the Back-to-School Apparel Solutions program, and headed straight to where we knew the deals were and our money could be stretched; WALMART! Sofia was given  a $100 […]

Loving yourself; why is it so hard?

Things for me, that are difficult (borderline impossible); keeping the car clean with 2 kids freshly painted nails chip-free after 48 hours not worrying about what others think of me, in every aspect of life losing at board games stopping myself from eating all-the-sour-keys loving myself  Pretty sure 1 through 5 are explainable, but why is it SO DAMN HARD to love yourself? Please someone tell, it’s a legitimate question I’m asking here! Why do people (myself included) struggle so much with something that should be the easiest, something that should come naturally, I mean we’ve gotten ourselves through many years of life, why doesn’t this impress us enough […]

3 steps for an Ant-less BBQ Season

  HEY YOU GUYS! How hot is it where you are? I cannot believe it’s only the first few days of Summer and here in Vancouver we’ve hit 34 °C, that’s 93 °F, isn’t that NUTS?! Steaks marinating, veggies skewered, watermelon cut, sun shining, music blaring… BBQ season is now in full swing and although I’d like to say we cook on the grill just for fun, sometimes it’s a survival skill (hashtag turn on the oven and get a punch in the throat). I am by no means complaining… BUT with this warm weather comes cooking outside, and with cooking outside brings uninvited guests! Yes some ants do […]

The Magic of Nature’s Care {Miracle-Gro}

We’re no strangers to getting dirty in this house, we’ve been playing in the dirt and caring for our own garden religiously for the last 4 years, and with each passing year Sofia gets more involved, and exponentially dirtier.  With how long and drawn out our Winter was this year we were unable to start the garden outside when we normally do, YOU GUYS we still had a massive amount of snow on the ground at the end of February! It was far too cold outside to start our little seedlings, poor things would’ve never made it. This year, for the first time, we started our seeds inside. […]

Bringing the Spa Home {Signature Mobile Spa}

Do something today that your future self with thank you for Treating yourself is something mother’s tend to let go to the waist-side. It’s not that they don’t think about it, it’s just not a priority. However what I have learnt over the 6 years of motherhood is if you don’t take care of yourself you just can’t expect yourself to be able to care for others.  I mean you CAN, but it’s not pretty (or fair) to that body that’s done so much for you already. Priorities have changed, expenses have increased (hello diapers and dance class) and overall you just don’t have the time anymore. Just […]

Grab your Sunnies! {SmartBuyGlasses}

When it comes to sunglasses Sammy and I have always been ones to go for quality over quantity; naturally we gravitate towards sunglasses that are classic and timeless vs trendy and seasonal, so we’re okay with the investment. Even though we know in advance we will have to pay a little more, we will still make an evening of it and research the best deals online. Quite possibly my favorite feature on the SmartBuyGlasses website is their VIRTUAL TRY ON; and it’s not what you think. Throw away what you once knew of testing glasses or sunglasses on an uploaded photo of yourself, they’ve taken this one step […]

The Best of Our California Vacation

I wanted to make sure I got something out to you all RIGHT AWAY (because who likes waiting?). I went through the 1,089 pictures (not at all overboard) and chose 30 fun shots taken from the 10 days away that should give you a good idea of how the trip went overall. We visited Disneyland, we tackled California Adventure, we outlet shopped, made our way to Santa Monica Pier, had a few pool days and even a down day (or two). I think we made the most of the California sun and are looking forward to the day that we can return.  I’ve made a few notes on the images […]
