Whistler Traditions {travel + fashion}

Screw Christmas Crackers and New matching pajamas, I’ve managed to make a vacation a holiday tradition in our family…  trust me guys, I’m even baffled by this one.    Sammy and I have been vacationing in Whistler over the Holidays since we first started dating 10yrs ago, ACTUALLY WAIT!  we even went there for our Honeymoon! This folks is why we call Whistler our happy place. We go up as close to Christmas as we can afford (no seriously, that’s the truth!). If we can manage a great rate or snag a Living Social deal early on in the year we go the week before Christmas, if we can’t and we’re hogtied into […]

FEATURE: Doodles By Me Shoes

I doubt this is going to come as a surprise but Sofia and I, WE LOVE A GOOD CRAFT. Clearly glitter runs through our veins and if crafting can be hereditary then it’s no doubt she got it from her mama! I stumbled across this company when looking for an indoor shoe that Sofia could take and keep at school. Once the request form rolled out in it entirety (this kindergarten thing is serious business) I was left with a very specific check-list of what they wanted in an indoor shoe for these kidlets. They must be able to put them on themselves (no tie-up shoes) They had […]

FEATURE: The Shoe Of The Summer; Native Shoes

THE SHOE OF THE SUMMER The statement is a BIG ONE, and there is no truer words spoken. Any human who has ever taken a child to the beach knows the sheer brilliance that is the Native Shoe. They’re incredibly lightweight, shock absorbent, washable, waterproof, and odor-resistant which translates to shoes the entire family can wear to the beach (or the water park) and never take off.  Native Shoes Website // Facebook // Twitter // Instagram Clearly were not at the beach here, nor were we headed there, but it’s clearly another reason why they get the “shoe of the summer” award from me; they can go from the streets to the […]

FASHION: or lack thereof’

You know why you don’t see weekly fashion posts here? Oh! Let me list the ways; Some days I don’t get out of my pajamas (don’t say you don’t do it). I’m not always fashionable, hard to believe, unless of course you caught me at Starbucks this morning. Sometimes laundry doesn’t make the priority list that week, not my basket anyways. Our home has horrible lighting for photographs, straight up! The weather sometimes plays mean and I just can’t get outside to take photographs (see excuse 4 for backup) Monday outfits are all about quick comfort because for me (and many others) they’re work days. I literally roll out […]

{mini} FASHION: Patterns & Layers

{Joe Fresh Shirt //  Joe Fresh Pants  //  H&M Vest  //  Joe Fresh Boots  //  Miss Giggle Buns Headband} Can I get this in adult size please?  Layers are really what it’s all about when it comes to this unpredictable weather we have here in Vancouver. We wake and it’s grim and foggy and dress accordingly, by noon the sun is shining, we pass people wear sunnies and we’re both sweltering in our so called weather appropriate ensembles. That’s the beauty of layers, they mask the foolishness of believing a morning face to be true to it’s word; you can remove a layer or two and fit in with the crowd quite […]

{nearly} Wordless Wednesday

Outfit Details// Old Navy Vest (similar), Joe Fresh Sweater (similar), Joe Fresh Jeans (on clearance), Target Boots Wordless is not really my thing, if anyone knows me they know I am far from quiet. I do however love the idea of getting away with a picture heavy post, and this is why we take part in Wordless Wednesday. Ours though, we would prefer to call nearly Wordless Wednesday because yeah, it’s what it is. I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.   -anne of green gables Pumpkin patchin’ with the school is what we got up to last week and boy was it […]

{Joe Fresh Sweater //  Joe Fresh Pants  //  Joe Fresh Jacket  //  Joe Fresh Boots  //  Joe Fresh Hat} First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL! HEALTH: 3 Reasons To Treat Yourself!

1. You’ll be more active; here is how I figure. When you look good, you feel good, we all know that, when you feel good you want to push yourself to continue to feel that way, right? Tasting small victories can go a long way for the body and mind. So in theory spending money to get new active wear you love to get into will only push yourself to get out in it more often. Right? 2. It’s more affordable than ever; quality active wear doesn’t need to put you behind on your mortgage payment, not with how main stream trendy active wear has become. Case […]

FASHION: #RockTheCrop Movement

I posted this to Facebook the other day but felt like it needed far more attention that just a social media rant share. You guys! Can you believe it? Body shaming is still something that goes on in 2015? People still feel the need to judge others choice of clothing solely based on their body type. I’m mean it’s like we’re all in elementary school and our parents still have control over our wardrobes and just how much skin is appropriate. Why is this still happening? And of all people, why did Oprah let this happen in the pages of her magazine? Q: Can I pull of a crop top? A: […]
