We are a tech-driven family. From smartphones to smartwatches, to laptops and tablets, our entire family enjoys being connected. It makes sense that Sofia takes to technology advanced toys, that and the fact everything is slowly going this way. Sammy and I used to depend on technology to get us through tough times with Sofia; some maybe hesitant to admit this, clearly I’m not one of them. Sofia was colic for the first 9 months of her life, including having strong negative feelings towards sleeping, and a personal vendetta for moving vehicles. This enjoyable combination made for some fun times as first time parents, let me tell you. Early on Sammy and I invested in a DVD player for the car as this seemed to be the only thing that got the three of us from point a to b without everyone in tears. As Sofia got older we replaced the DVD player with a tablet as this seemed like a better investment as she aged. It offered her so much more including educational games and app’s that would travel with us from car, to restaurant, to hotel; you get the idea. Long story short, we embrace technology and do it as a family.
Sofia’s most recent tech-obsession was with the Vtech Kidizoom Smartwatch. Every commercial, every toy aisle outting, and every Target flyer that made it within her reach, Sammy and I heard just how “badly she needed it”. She now has it gracing her wrist, and in her eyes, life is feeling pretty complete these days. She has her own camera on there, including video, she can record messages, play games, Oh! Yeah! and she can also tell the time. Ha! This thing does it all, I sorta’ love the fact that she’s learning to tell the time and take her own selfies at the ripe ol’ age of three, I mean what techy blogging mom wouldn’t be proud right?
