This shopping centre’s re-design is near and dear to me. Not because it’s where I spend a great deal of my hard earned money, but it’s where I found my first retail job, at Suzy Shier. Guildford Town Centre as most of you are well aware has gone through a grand make-over to say the least. From adding an additional 70 stores and close to expanding 214, 000 square feet. That’s some serious addition I might add. Adding some of my favorite stores to their mall directory like H&M, Forever 21, Sephora… guess the new tolled bridge it going to be used more than usual. You can’t keep this girl away from her shopping, not when stores like this are involved.
I visited Guildford not too long ago to meet up with a girlfriend of mine, for some well deserved retail therapy, and I must say I didn’t even recognize the place. No joke this building is a work of art. I was in complete shock walking around, trying to get my grounds on being there to drop some cash. The place is insane. Beautiful just doesn’t do it justice. Along from the perfect steeped DAVIDsTEA we sipped the living wall was one of my favorite new features.
Mark the calendar for the ultimate back-to-school shopping experience on Wednesday, August 28th, 2013 at the Grand Opening of Guildford Town Centre. To celebrate the newly redeveloped shopping centre, Guildford Town Centre is inviting the community to join the festivities, which will include live entertainment, great deals and the addition of dozens of new retail offerings.
Guildford Town Centre’s redevelopment is bringing an unparalleled shopping experience to the Fraser Valley with some of the top national and international brands. With popular stores such as H&M, GUESS, Browns Shoes, Forever 21, Aritzia, Jack & Jones, Town Shoes, and Sephora, Guildford Town Centre will be the ultimate one-stop shop for all of the latest back-to-school needs and more.
The shopping centre’s $280 million expansion will result in more than 70 store openings and also includes a new 1,034 seat Food Court, a stunning new Centre Court with a glass enclosed elevator and water feature, and a nearly 10,000 square foot living-art wall on the exterior of the shopping centre. The living art piece expands over one of Surrey’s major commuting streets and stands alone as the biggest of its kind in North America featuring over 120 different species of plants.
With the redevelopment, Guildford Town Centre stands as one of the leading shopping destinations in the Fraser Valley. The Grand Opening on August 28th will mark the second phase in the major redevelopment, with completion anticipated for fall of 2014.
So local lovelies, who can I expect to see tomorrow at Guildford Town Centre’s grand opening? Will you be there?

I liked that they used to have a kiddie play area. Does the newly designed mall have a new play area too? If so, I will definitely have to check it out with my two girls : )
