Some of you saw that I attended a local mama event put on by Modern Mama, called Hot Tot Products. For the past 2 years, it was held in Edmonton, however this year, us vancouverites were lucky enough to get a chance to experience it first hand, without the snowy travel. A quaint evening, hosted at a boutique hotel downtown, with a cozy group of mama’s who are looking to score some serious baby loot. Hottest Tot Products is the single largest giveaway event of baby and toddler gear in Canada. Products ranging from toys to trends, and strollers to bedding, the event features all of the latest “It” baby gear, which is waiting to be sent home with some lucky local moms. The night consisted of cocktails, scrumptious appetizers, girl time, and swag bags concluding the night with each mom walking away with one of the featured products {ranging in value from $40 to $500}. Space was limited to the number of products on hand {40 products for 40 moms} to guarantee that everyone leaves with something fabulous. As we arrived we randomly selected a number from a hat, creating the line-up of when we were able to choose our product of choice.
Walking into the event, I had a good idea of what I had hoped to walk out the door with, however this greatly depended on my luck in picking a nice low number. In the past, luck has not always sided with me and therefore I was skeptical he was routing for me tonight. As we arrived I pulled a 24 our of the hat… I honestly was happy with that. Right in the middle, between 1 and 40, my odds in getting something that I had hoped were still in reach. Walked in the doors, greeted with some appetizers and mingled with so many lovely mama’s. Some of which I knew from the past and some fresh new faces that I hope to see again. You know, their is something really comforting about chatting with like minded mama’s. Brings me back earth, reminded me I too am only human and am able to giggle about the time Sofia bailed, resulted in a black eye and missing eyelashes.
Once the numbers started to get called out my inner child creeped out, and I began getting ancy with excitement… not quite to the point of peeing my pants, BUT CLOSE. The top things on my list that I wanted to snag were Jack & Lola’s Strider Bike, The Piggyback Rider, The Sweet Dreams & Flying Machines Sleepsack, Rockpretty Babies Gro Anywhere Blinds, and either of the Clek Booster Seats. However with a list a mile long {see all that was available here} I was not concerned I wouldn’t find something we would love. My number was called and out of the wish-list I made, the Sleepsack was still sitting petty…. I snatched it up and from this day forward Sofia Marie sleeps in style. Heck! Even I don’t own a $80 pair of pajamas. Something needs to be done here lovelies… Let’s hope the husband READS THIS!
The night was amazing! The woman from Modern Mama were such great hostesses and I couldn’t be more happy with the extended invite to me and a girlfriend, Ashley. I am looking forward to new years event, with already in mind I will purchase a VIP ticket with another VIP lady {I won’t name names as she may or may not have shared the news yet to her baby in the oven – soooo excited} !!!

I saw your post earlier and am soo jealous that we don’t have this here in the states. There are some cool baby events in the U.S. though, unfortunately they are all in the big cities. Congrats on the fancy jammies.
