After reaching out on Monday, It has been made clear that you’re all very interested in all the secrets behind what I have been doing to lose all this unwanted weight. I had a total of 50 lbs that I wanted to drop, and as of today that’s down to 23 lbs left to make magically disappear. Make sure you read my story on how this all started, but for those who are already well aware why this journey began, today is an update to that part of the story. Today I share all the little secrets and outlets I’ve learnt along the way; these last 80 days have just flown by.
SECRET #1 :: a diet of any nature is far more successful when you have a team that cheers you on along the way. I started this journey with my best friend Lindsay, and she has been my support system, however not the only person I go to when I need help along the way. My husband, my family, and all of you online who have been rooting for us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; I consider myself very lucky for you all backing us up and am forever grateful. TIP // think of one person that you see often and look up to, ask them to check in with you every monday, then find another online bestie and have them follow up on fridays, this should cover all your bases. make sure they check in with you once a week and see how things are going. oh wait! don’t forget to take your images online using the hashtag #youcandukan so that lindsay and I can follow along with you; consider us your online pep-squad, minus the leotards and repetitive chants {you’re welcome!}.
SECRET #2 :: planning ahead is key. I’ve mentioned this once or twice before but I can’t tell you enough how important this is. For those days you just don’t give a damn, and are completely exhausted or run-down {as I can’t be the only one who goes through this}, you need everything planned ahead of time to ensure you don’t deviate and make regretful compulsive decisions. You owe it to yourself to succeed, so do all that you can to avoid any avenues to failure. TIP // take time every sunday to plan your meals for the week ahead. ensure that you shop weekly for all items you have run low on, and get a meal planner {this one is my favorite} and start getting yourself flawlessly, and beautifully, organized.
SECRET #3 :: find snacks you enjoy and look forward to eating as a reward. I hate using the word reward when it comes to food, but whether we like it or not, it’s a fact, we enjoy to treat ourselves for a job well done with something scrumptious. For me it’s a slice of guilt-free cheesecake, a dukan diet chocolate chip cookie, fat-free chocolate pudding, or a dukan diet coconut cookie. My fridge and cupboard are always stocked for the week and by the nights end, I treat myself. TIP // research recipes that you love, make them in advance, freeze them if you must, and ensure you keep that grocery list running each week for ingredients you’ll need for your sunday grocery shop. the last thing you wanna do is curl up in the couch the night of big brother eviction and find out you’re one cheesecake short of an amazing evening.
