Cutting Down our Christmas Tree {VLOG}

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING; I thought you said you were on vacation until the 27th. This is true, I am, BUT we did put out another vlog today on our YouTube Channel and I did not want you missing it. It's an extra special one.  We went out this past weekend and cut down a Christmas Tree. I know! I know! SO LATE, right? But we had no choice with the tree farms not being open when our family's schedule was clear and then we were away in Whistler for 4 days. Like many other families, we're at the mercy of WEEKENDS when it comes to family outings and so it ended up this year that our earliest time for cutting down our Christmas Tree was this past weekend.  On the … read more...

Crazy Kids Playground in Whistler {VLOG}

SHE ALMOST FLEW OFF; Crazy Kids Playground in Whistler! We love the kids playground in Whistler, it’s actually a lot of what the girls talk about when we get home. It’s built out of real logs with playground parts, like a slide, ladder, pole and swings, but walking past… it’s more of an art piece, remove the childish screams as you walk by and it could totally pass for that. IT’S GORGEOUS is what I am saying, gorgeous and functional, conveniently located next to a Starbucks, so really it’s a parents dream. Thank you Whistler Canada, nice move! One of our favorite parts to Whistler Village, besides the Crazy Kids Playground is the tobogganing hill where Stella had her first … read more...

Road Trip to Whistler {VLOG}

  It was our annual Road Trip to Whistler; I packed for cold but clear weather… it's what the weather report told us! But when we arrived... snow covered the village, a snowsuit was a must if you were going outside and toques and gloves were not an option. IT WAS FREEZING! Traveling with kids carries it's own set of surprises, however this one completely threw us off our game. We were expecting clear skies, cold winds but ABSOLUTELY ZERO chance of snow! We could not have been more wrong! Every year over the Holidays our family bundles up and heads on a Road Trip to Whistler for a little Christmas Family Vacation. It's always been snowing for as long as I … read more...

Our Annual Whistler Family Vacation

{Nearly} Wordless Wednesday; our annual Whistler Family Vacation has come and gone, but of course I can still relish in all the moments in photographs and video. Our trip is usually surprise-less, and in a good way, we keep it quite simple, stay at the same hotel, eat at the same favorite spots and PLAY HARD. However this year with a diet change, no regular groupon deal offered and a new little one that's totally and completely mobile, a few minor adjustments were made to the usual Family Vacation. We found the BEST Gluten-Free Pizza Delivery in Whistler, we stayed at a gorgeous Lodge found on VRBO and we played even HARDER than usual running after a wee-one who let no … read more...

How to do Whistler Affordably with Kids

We call Whistler our home away from home. Not only the fact that it's only a 1 hour and 45 minute drive door to door, but because should we have free time as a family, it's usually when we end up in Whistler. Sammy and I before kids went up there twice a year and we've managed to continue on with this travel tradition after kids with a visit in the Summer and again in the Winter.  We've done Whistler on a budget, and we've done Whistler to the max. Both have been equally as fun, except that time on our Honeymoon, it was a smidgen more magical than all the other times. Either way, Whistler can be done affordably with or without kids and I'm going to tell you exactly … read more...

Incredible Christmas Light Display {VLOG}

We may have JUST made it before the lights flipped on for the first time... But without all the added anxiety and stress it wouldn't be the same. YOU GUYS! Is it just me or are you always rushing to things, like I mean ALWAYS?! It was no different checking out the Lights at Lafarge Lake for their BIG official lighting event. We rushed to get there. Rushed to find parking. Rushed to pay for parking. Rushed to connect with our family meeting us there. and then we sat. We waited. and waited some more. and then a little more.  BAM the lights flew on and it was SPECTACULAR! and then it rained....   CHECK IT OUT! CLICK HERE   It's one of my most … read more...
