Luggage Haul (for Disneyland)

We all know that half the fun of planning a vacation is the countdown (hello! paper chains for the win) and of course searching out and purchasing new things for the trip too; no?! Is that just me? Hello, my name is Tairalyn and I'm a SHOPAHOLIC. Either way, we've increased our luggage to include a few new things that I just had to share with you because I'm so excited to put them to good use this Family holiday.  Here you have the 5 most recent additions to our luggage (yes, I left that very open for more possible additions):   Water Floaty // Retails $15 We're headed back to the same house we stayed at (and loved) the last time we visited … read more...

Vlog001 (this is not a test)

WE DID IT. We finally took the jump, recorded and posted our first vlog and you can watch it here... YOU GUYS we did it! ...PSSSSST this is when you chime in and tell me how proud you are of me! It's not perfect, it's not how I imagined our FIRST vlog going, but I couldn't continue to wait any longer. Life was happening and moments I wan't to capture were passing me by. No more waiting for the perfect time; a better camera will come, better audio will follow, getting better at using the editing software comes with time, I'll learn to always shoot horizontally and better lighting should be on the way when Spring decides to stop dragging it's feet... all things will get … read more...

Baby Products That Last (the test of time)

When it comes to baby gear I am all about LONGEVITY. Whether it's to keep for future babies, for friends with future baby plans or to sell and recoup part of my investment back. For me I look at the company and brand, are they reputable, do they make a quality product and have they lasted the TEST OF TIME? Just off the top of my head, a few brands that come to mind when I think quality baby gear, I think Fisher-Price, Graco, Britax, Peg-Perego, Munchkin... all these are companies that have been around the (baby) block. They have lasted the test of time through not only our own children, but our parents children too... WAIT! WHAT? Yes! That's right, I'm lookin' at you … read more...

Baby Monitor Bliss

I like to sleep next to her, without having to sleep in her crib.  I like to have my eye on her at any given moment, but also giving her space. ...and I can with a video baby monitor.  Why steer away from a brand you love and trust between kids, right? When we were on the hunt for a baby monitor for Stella I did search around to see what was new on the market, but at the end of the day I knew I would end up with a Levana Baby Monitor. We had one with Sofia, we bought ones for our friends who were expecting, and now it only makes sense we have one for Stella. This time around we chose the Willow Video Baby Monitor;   >>Willow Video Baby Monitor … read more...

Crying Over What Could’ve Been

Go ahead! Call me an EMOTIONAL WRECK you guys.... but do you ever do this? Do you find yourself crying over things that could've been? Like a child you may have never had?! Lately I've been going back and thinking what if (it's a very dangerous place). Letting my mind go to a place of what "could've been" royally sucks. Just a few weeks ago I thought about how life has changed since having Stella and I was quick to remind myself how crazy I was for thinking that we thought we were done after one. Sofia had my heart, she kept us busy, we were getting into the swing of things as a family and we all found our places in our little tribe; it felt amazing. I … read more...

Sleep; it’s a beautiful thing {sleep training baby}

Forget all the solicited (and unsolicited) advice your friends have given you about "how to get your baby to sleep through the night". I hate to do it, I hate that I am THAT PERSON right now, but because babies are all so different, the best and most successful way to get sleep is to have a plan built just for them (and you). You see, we never sleep trained Sofia as it was just not an option at that very moment. When Sofia was born she was deemed colic, and we were simply trying to keep our head above water on a day-to-day basis. We were not in the right frame of mind to tackle sleep training on-top of dealing with all that comes with a colic'y baby.  HAVING … read more...

Keeping Handwritten Notes Alive {basic invite}

I wrote and passed notes in high school EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. In fact, I have a shoe box full of handwritten notes that meant more than just a pen to paper; some they confessed high school true loves or silly moments we never wanted to say allowed but never wanted to forget. It's no wonder why people can grow a strong love for stationery, it can carry so much emotion.  The more digital we get, the more I want to make sure that handwritten notes never fade in my house. From unexpected letters in the mail, to notes or drawings tapped to bedroom doors, lunch kit love notes and handwritten cards celebrating half birthdays. This will never stop in my house, for it will … read more...
