You have Gestational Diabetes, a condition in which women who currently don’t living with Diabetes exhibit high blood glucose levels during their pregnancy. It’s caused by improper insulin responses which the body then has high blood sugar levels and registers as being Diabetic.
It hurts. I mean saw it coming, but that doesn’t mean I can’t still be extremely disappointed that I’m sitting here once again at this cross-road. To be honest I’m hurt, but also sorta’ doing my best to be over it. I mean I’ve only got 84 days to go, give or take, it’s not going to kill me to follow a strict diet and be a little more active than I already am, but…. it’s a label, and I hate labels.
I’m not going to let this get the best of me, because well I’m just far too busy for that. I’ve got a list a mile long of not only things I need to focus on for work but things that need to still be done before baby arrives. I’ve made a note to write a post about making the most out of a positive Gestational Diabetes diagnosis and DAMN IT! I will find the silver lining if it’s the last thing I do!
So to all those ladies who’s bodies sided with your disgust and threw up (and kept up) your blood sugar levels in anger and frustration for having to consume a bottle of sugar on an empty stomach and sit for 2 hours, you’re not alone. We’ve got this, and come delivery day, you better believe absolutely zero judgement will be coming from me on your requests of all the bagels are made. I just hope you’re not delivering in the same hospital on the same day as I am. #bagelsandcroissants #soldout
