You know what empowers me? My family, because at the end of the day all that I have strived to do has been for them. And you know what gives me the strength to tackle the daily “to do” lists? Tea; tea allows me to stay calm, collect my thoughts in silence and best of all it keeps me awake when all I’m being fueled by is 4 hours of sleep {as we all know this happens often as a mama}. Come spring and definitely into summer Tea isn’t always my drink of choice, I’d say something more refreshing and laid-back is craved most come these months. This is why I had to come up with a way I could use tea in my very own custom “drink of choice” for the warmer months ahead. Why? Well those “to do” lists don’t take ever take a vacation and therefore, neither do I. Tea is a hot commodity in this household, let me tell you…
…did you know that sodastream flavors contain less calories, sugar, and carbs that traditional sparkling beverages?
I may only be a mother of one, but I’m also a wife of one, a sister of two, a daughter of two, a friend of many, and blogger to the world; and with this comes the long list of tasks. From playdates to classes, to laundry, cleaning, lunch packing and dinner making, to fashion advise and shoulder sharing, to problem solving and grocery shopping, and creating. I would love to sit and write out just what my day consists of to really prove to myself that what I do in a day is crazy, but let’s be honest, I don’t have the time for that. What I do have time for however is making a bubbly beverage that will solve all my daily woes.

Citrus Bubbles with a Tea Twist
1 bottle of Carbonated Water via SodaStream
1/2 serving of Orange Mango syrup
4 tbsp Pink Flamingo Tea via DavidsTea
1/2 cup Water | boiling
1 Orange | fresh, zest
*makes 4 servings
Start off by making your carbonated water. Fill your bottle with chilled filtered water and decide how bubbly you want it {I’m all about the bubbles so I go to the 3rd stage}. Carbonate your water and then remove 1/2 cup, this is to make room for your tea. Add in your Orange Mango syrup, and set in your fridge while you do the next steps.
Next you want to get your tea, steep all 4 tbsp in the 1/2 cup of boiling water; letting it steep for 30 minutes. Remove the tea bag and place in the fridge to cool. Once cooled remove from the fridge along with your Orange Mango Sparkling Beverage and mix the two together.
TIP: when adding anything with a sugar base into your carbonated beverage always make sure to pour down the neck of your bottle and not directly into the bottle. This will avoid any reactions with the carbonated water which may end up all over your floor. trust me on this one, it may or may not have happened to me once before.
When you are ready to enjoy your bubbly citrus tea, pour over ice, sprinkle with orange zest, sip and enjoy!

I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I feel for my life, as busy and hectic as it is most days, it’s my life and I’m thankful for every person in it. It’s the small things in my day that I appreciate most, the warm cup of creamy early grey I savor each and every morning as Sofia does her morning laps chasing Olly, the amazing feeling I get after reading a sweet comment from one of you, finding a pen in the junk draw that actually works, and a magical machine that turns water into wine bubbles, #bubblesmyway. It’s the same things that matter most.
What do I love most about my sodastream you wonder *gazing into the air with a blank stare*; well let me tell you:
* customization :: I make my drinks as bubbly as I want and I control the sweetness
* convenience :: When I crave, I make. It’s really that simple. All I need it tap water.
* earth friendly :: Just the thought that one sodastream bottle can replace 2,000 bottles and cans make me green-giddy
