Sofia is really learning that a routine, is actually a good thing. Her Mummy and Daddy had a scheduled life far before she ever was a dream. The past 2 weeks have been anything but planned, or a dream for that matter… and as much as Sammy and I are doing our best in learning all of Sofia’s quirks we are really enjoying days like today where success can be seen.
Thanks to a suggestion from my sister and cousin, we watched a few old video’s from The Oprah Show and The View when Dr. Karp was featured, the man who wrote the book “The Happiest Baby on the Block”. We learnt his 5 S’s for soothing your baby and they worked like a charm. They worked the moment we tried them, it was like magic.
So I think It’s only fair that I owe Dr. Karp my first born – then again now that she is such a pleasure, I’d rather keep her. I promise I’ll give you my second… I’m sure he/she will be just as cute! But after the sleepless nights a emotional whirlwind that we have gone through the past 3 weeks, my guess is that Sofia Marie just might be an only child.

This is what success looks like…
{sleep is a beautiful thing, especially when they go down smiling}

Oh man, the 5 S’s saved us in the beginning. We did get Milo on a schedule, but it’s been of since we’ve been in the process of a big move

Good for you! Even before you learned the 5 S’s, I think you were doing quite well. It is hard to see that you’re doing a great job, when you are sleep deprived and feeling overwhelmed.
I always imagined my husband and I having a perfect schedule when we had kids. Then we had twins, and no matter how hard we tried, it was almost impossible for us to get both of our girls into the same rhythm. So, we lived a chaotic, exhausted life for the first 10 months or so. It’s better now. At 16 months, I don’t have trouble keeping them on a schedule and they actually ask for their daily nap!
