Weight Loss Update :: Day 29

My mama always said “the proof is in the puddin“. And by proof she must’have meant the pictures, before and after pictures. Right mama!? Holy Hannah! Three cheers for me and my lack of baby-tummy! Where the heck did that go? Down nearly 18 lbs in 29 days feels mightly nice, looks nice too ‘eh?

Okay enough tootin’ my horn, let’s get the balls rolling on what you’all came here for. The deets, the recipes, the DL on all the amazing dishes we’ve been teasing you with via instagram all damn week! As promised I’m sharing two of my favorite recipes that Lindsay and I have searched out, further perfected, and are now sharing with you today. Our Breakfast Treat, designed by none other than Miss Oh So Lindsay, a quick and simple morning breakfast that you can make and take on the run. Oh! And did I mention is tastes sinful. The second recipe is our Cauliflower Pizza Crust that is beyond your wildest dreams {assuming you dream of cauliflower like we do}. I swear to you, in all my dirty sailor ways, that this Cauliflower Pizza Crust will blow your mind; I also promise you that you’ll have no problem getting your family to eat it too. If I didn’t slave over it myself you would have fooled me.

DIET UPDATE :: Not much to tell you as far as changes go, being on the cruise phase is the longest lasting, other than of course the last phase, which is simply maintaining a healthy lifestyle for life. What I can tell you however is not specifically dukan diet related, what it is, is valuable information for mama’s who are loosing weight. What I’ve found is after loosing the 18 lbs my tummy is showing signs of wrinkling and what I think to be as stretched skin that doesn’t wanna go back to where it’s supposed to. I inquired with my naturopath on what I could do to help with this and she mentioned 2 things to me. One I need to find a good grapefruit essential oil, start adding 5 to 10 drops to my existing body lotions and use it on my tummy daily. The second thing is a specific exercise that I need to do each morning. Using a bath towel you must roll it up tight making a tube about 40 cm long; wrapping it tight with elastic bands to keep it from unraveling. Then lay on your back placing the towel under you, directly under your belly button and stretch your arms above your head and your feet fully extended. Here is the important part, touch your pinkys together palms facing the floor and your big toes together. Stay like this for 5 minutes, this move will stretch and actually lengthen your torso in helping smooth out your mid-section. I will be sure to instagram a shot of what this looks like for everyone to really truly see what I’m trying very desperately to explain. I’ve yet to try it, but I am looking forward to adding this to my morning routine.

Last week I had posted a few links, they were the Dukan Diet in book form {here and here}. I’m actually quite intrigued to snag one myself to simply keep on hand. I think it will be very beneficial to have laying around especially when I hit the stabilization stage. In the meantime, I’ve also research some awesome Dukan Diet Cookbooks that are currently on my “wish list”. It’s quite convenient to find recipes online, thanks to Pinterest, however I find a lot of recipes to just be duplicates or version of, so it would be nice to have a fresh new mix to work with. Here are the two I am currently crushing over:

 

WEIGH IN :: as of Monday I am down 17.7 lbs which means only 32.3 lbs to go. I feel like it’s been smooth sailing to date, and although I wouldn’t go and say this is an EASY diet, it’s definitely one that works best for me. It’s all about planning ahead and making sure your support system is in place {you know who you are *coughcough* Lindsay and *coughcough* Tamara}.

  2. Congrats Taira. Your recipe for breakfast sounds yummy. I actually make oatmeal and sprinkle cinnamon on it, add walnuts and some apple butter. You should try that. It’s super yummy and healthy and that cauliflower pizza sounds delicious.

  7. I really commend you on putting together new recipes, and trying a whole new food and life experience to stick with it and get healthy. You are such an inspiration. Now to just have the determination you have to say no the the cookies in my cookie jar! I did however work out to my Jillian Michaels DVDs three times last week and once this week!! It’s just the junk food that needs to be cut out!
